Is Maibach Energy a foreign company?

The name is German based but we are an American company based in Lancaster.

What happened to Lancaster Propane Gas, Inc?

Lancaster Propane was started by Paul Wheaton in 1994 and sold to his son William Wheaton in late 2020. As we modernize some aspects of the company we will continue to use the brand name until we are ready to market under the Maibach Energy name.

What size tank do I have?

Above-ground propane tanks range from very small 100 & 200-pound tanks to 120-gallon, 250-gallon, 500-gallon, and large 1,000-gallon tanks. For example, a grill tank holds about 5 gallons of propane. The most common is the vertical 120-gallon tanks and horizontal 250-gallon tanks. Depending on the manufacturer 120s are 54 inches tall with a diameter of 30 inches, whereas the 250s are 7 feet 3 inches long with a diameter of 32 inches. For underground tanks, you may have the U1A plaque or a copy of the bill of sale. If you don’t know the exact capacity of your tank don’t worry. We use your tank size and current fill percentage for pricing and delivery routing. Having the exact size helps but isn’t required.
